Dubbed an Auckland jazz super-group, DOG features five of the top instrumentalists in the City of Sails - all in the faculty of the University of Auckland jazz programme.

As a quartet, featuring 2 Kiwis, Roger Manins (saxophone) and Kevin Field (piano), with bassist Olivier Holland originally from Germany, and Canadian Ron Samsom on drums, their 2015 self-titled CD won New Zealand Jazz Album of the Year. They’ve since added fellow-lecturer, and Canadian, Keith Price on guitar.

A true pack, with no single top dog, each musician brings original compositions for the band. This concert captures them together in front of an enthusiastic audience, in a rare concert on their familiar territory of CJC Creative Jazz Club, where all are crowd-favourites when appearing regularly with different groups.

Apodado un súper grupo de jazz de Auckland, DOG cuenta con cinco de los mejores instrumentistas de City of Sails, todos en la facultad del programa de jazz de la Universidad de Auckland.

Como cuarteto, Roger Manins (saxofón) y Kevin Field (piano), con el bajista Olivier Holland originario de Alemania y el canadiense Ron Samsom en la batería, su CD homónimo de 2015 ganó el premio al Álbum de Jazz del Año de Nueva Zelanda.
