  • Born in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

    He started playing the guitar at the age of 15 and started his professional career while still in high school.

    In October 2011, he released a major debut album "First Train" from EMI Music Japan.

    In January 2012, the same work won the "NISSAN PRESENTS JAZZ JAPAN AWARD 2011" Album of the Year (New Star category). In November 2013, he released his 2nd album "Waiting for Sunrise" from Universal Music.

    In April 2016, he participated in Kazumi Watanabe's 45th anniversary album "Guitar Is Beautiful KW45". In April of the same year, the debut album "CRCK / LCKS" was released by the pop unit "CRCK / LCKS" with elite musicians of her age.

    In June 2016, he performed with world-renowned jazz guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel at Blue Note Tokyo.

    In 2017, he formed his own new unit “STEREO CHAMP” (Shinpei Ruike tp, Shota Watanabe keys, pf, Ren Yamamoto b, Yasushi Fukumori ds). On June 21st of the same year, he released the third album "STEREO CHAMP", which was created with members from ReBorn Wood and is his most ambitious work. In April 2018, the first Blue Note Tokyo performance as STEREO CHAMP was sold out and was a great success.

    In November 2018, in addition to the same members, the album "MONO LIGHT", which includes songs featuring WONK's vocalist Kento NAGATSUKA, and his first solo guitar album "Solo Guitar" were released at the same time.

    In February 2019, he held a solo performance at STEREO CHAMP at the Cotton Club and sold out.

    In addition, he is active in his own projects such as STEREO CHAMP, such as actively performing solo guitar live.

    In addition, he actively interacts with overseas musicians in Hong Kong and other Asian countries, and London and other European countries, and actively performs on the world stage, performing not only in Japan but also in the world. The activity is attracting attention from all quarters.

    From April 2019, the first regular radio program "Midnight Jammin'" (every Friday from 24:30 to 25:00) will start on FM Yokohama. (Ends at the end of December 2020)

    On February 19, 2020, the acoustic jazz album "Our Platform" will be released for the first time in about 7 years from Pony Canyon.

    Also, in November, the first two consecutive nights of performances will be sold out at Blue Note Tokyo.
